Alessia Melasecche Germini, CEO and Senior Expert of META Group, on behalf of Horizon Results Booster, participated in episode #74 of The Grant. She gave an overview of the different free support services offered by the initiative. To apply to the services, the ongoing or past research projects - funded under H2020, FP7 or Horizon Europe programmes - have to submit their application on the dedicated website.
As Alessia mentioned, the involvement in Horizon Results Booster gives that “little extra push to get the projects rolling beyond their finish date”. Very often after the first deployment of the projects, research teams realise how hard it is to actually get applicable results in a post-project phase. Indeed, this phase is key to ensuring a long-term effect on the field of application.
The work of Horizon Results Booster addresses one of the most tackling challenges faced by the European Commission: to maximise the economic and societal return from the huge investments made in research and development during the past decades. Securing continuity of the results achieved by the projects is core to Horizon Results Booster.
“The idea behind Horizon Results Booster is always a learning experience for the beneficiaries. Every time that we have to provide a service, we create a team composed of a senior and a junior expert with experience related to the project’s field. On top of that, we have separated and dedicated teams for dissemination and go-to-market services. We also have another one, only for the benefit of the European Commission’s project officers which is specialised in providing them with studies”, highlighted Alessia.
To cover the pending issues from the first episode, a second one was registered. In this episode, The Grant team dug deeply into the diverse range of support services offered by Horizon Results Booster to EU-funded projects. When projects reach the end line many fall short of actually realising the potential of what they have just been investigating for the last 3-4 years.

On 22 November, the revamped and renamed Booster was officially launched at an exciting and fact-filled online event, hosted by the European Commission.
The event offers a glance at the valorisation ecosystem and examines the myriad of free-of-charge support services available for dissemination and exploitation activities.
One of the main challenges faced by the R&D community is converting their findings into valuable outcomes. Booster takes on this challenge by offering expert and personalised support to increase the added value of Research & Innovation (R&I) projects and bring them out into the world.
We are thrilled to announce that Horizon Results Booster (HRB) will take part in the upcoming Energy Fair of the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) in Brussels from June 11 to 13.
