Frequently Asked Questions

General questions

The Booster is an excellent opportunity for a project or a group of projects to receive tailored coaching and advise on their dissemination and exploitation efforts, encompassing from go-to-market strategies and networking opportunities to intellectual assets management and public speaking coaching, among other services.
A project is defined as any undertaking, carried out individually or collaboratively (consortia) involving research, innovation or design. Projects are created through a grant agreement between the beneficiary (individual or a consortium) and the European Commission/Executive Agency implementing the programme, such as the 7th Framework Programme for research, technological development and demonstration activities (FP7), Horizon 2020 or Horizon Europe.
A Project Group is defined as a collaboration of several projects with certain commonalities that allow for joint dissemination and/or exploitation. For a Project Group to benefit from the Booster services, at least one of the projects belonging to the group must meet the eligibility criteria.
Services are free-of-charge.
The European Commission will be responsible for the eligibility assessment of all applications received.
For more information contact: booster@meta-group.com
The Booster services are provided entirely through the online platform, from the application phase to the completion of the service, not excluding the possibility of physical meetings when necessary. The platform allows applicants to prepare and submit the application for Booster support, share documents and files with experts during service delivery, monitor the progress of the service delivery, view the Service Delivery Plan, and interact with experts through discussion topics. Therefore, all individuals involved in the service delivery must be registered on the platform. Note that personal data will be managed in accordance with GDPR regulations, and all experts and non-project partners have signed a Confidentiality Agreement to protect the disclosure of confidential project information.
They will be available until 2028.
For each service there is a different timeframe, ranging from a few weeks to up to 6 months, so this will depend on the selected services.

Application and eligibility of services

Services are available for all ongoing and completed projects or project groups under the 7th Framework Programme for research, technological development and demonstration activities (FP7), Horizon 2020 or Horizon Europe.

They can be directly funded (i.e., with a signed Grant Agreement with the European Commission/Executive Agency) or indirectly (e.g., through the Joint Undertakings, Partnerships, EIT KICs). Exceptions may apply.

Projects funded by other programmes are also eligible if they join a project group led by an eligible project.
Applications can be submitted by any beneficiary of an eligible project by completing the application form accessible directly from the Booster homepage. The online application form is the only official way to request Booster support.
Applicants shall register on the platform to access the form.
This registration allows you to save your progress and return to complete the application at your convenience.

Once applications are submitted, they are reviewed by the European Commission for eligibility. If deemed eligible, applicants will be contacted by the appointed experts to begin the Entry Level Consultation. If rejected, beneficiaries will receive a notification with the rejection reason. This does not prevent you from applying again with an eligible application.

Applicants are expected to receive an answer on their application within 5 to 10 working days.
The Booster provides personalised support to guide applicants through the services, define their service requests, and monitor the progress of implementation. All services include an initial consultation prior to the delivery of any specific service to determine the applicant’s needs. Follow-up meetings are also organised on a regular basis to review the applicant’s needs and assist them in selecting additional services, if required.
Applications can be submitted by any beneficiary of the EU-funded project consortium. Applicants are strongly encouraged to inform the Project Coordinator and the other project partners about the application.

There are no application deadlines, meaning that it is possible to apply for Booster support at any time. The Booster will be up and running until 2028, or until there is budget available

Yes, provided that the project comes from an eligible funding programme and aligns with the overall eligibility criteria.

It is not a competitive programme; each application is assessed individually. Any member of an eligible project can apply by completing the online application form, which is the only official way to request the Booster services.
As far as the EIT initiative is co-funded by FP7, H2020, Horizon Europe projects are eligible.
Only those applications that do not meet the eligibility criteria are rejected. The timing of application is not a criterion for rejection. If the reason for rejection is pending supporting documents, the Booster management will reach out to the beneficiary to provide such documents.
There is not any priority. All eligible projects have the same priority.
Submission of Description of the Action – Part B is essential for the experts to better understand the project and tailor the service delivery. All experts have signed a Confidentiality Agreement and maintain the same level of confidentiality as the European Commission.
If your project includes EU-restricted issues, you may consult your Project Officer for guidance. To avoid any potential breach of restrictions, you can focus on a project result that is not labelled as ‘restricted’ during the service. You can then learn how to use the tools and methodologies provided and apply them independently to the restricted results.

Service delivery

The Booster services are delivered on line. A dedicated workspace is created in the Booster platform accessible only to registered users.
In general, the Booster services support all typologies of Key Exploitable Results. Further distinctions may apply depending on the selected services.
All project beneficiaries can participate in the service delivery, but it is not mandatory. It is recommended that beneficiaries involved in exploitation/dissemination and/or those leading Key Exploitable Results participate.

Miscellaneous

The experts providing the services cover various scientific and technological domains, but they are primarily specialists in dissemination and exploitation. They are assigned to projects according to their specific domain or field and according to their level of experience. However, it is important to note that the experts act as facilitators of a process and do not replace beneficiaries in providing content during the delivery of the services.
Project Officers are automatically notified by the Booster platform when you submit your application and when the final report of the Booster service is produced. They may also participate during the service delivery, but this is not mandatory.
The level of TRL is not part of recommendation and/or requirement condition to receive the Booster services, since the Booster can support projects with low and high TRL levels.
